The Enstone family
Charles Enstone was a fireman and married Mary, a nurse. In the photo below, Charles stands on the left hand of the wreath holder. This was taken in 1938, we think at the occasion of his retirement from the fire service. Mary is the nurse in the photo, surrounded by her patients. After Mary died, Charles married again - his second wife, Edith, was a cook and known as "Auntie".
With Mary, Charles had four children, all boys. Richard and George were landscape gardeners, working as partners at one time. Sid was in forestry and Alec a garage owner.
To the left, the four brothers - from the left: Sid, Dick, George and Alec
Below - Dick during his war years in the Army (unit was SHAFER??).
Two of the brothers, Dick and Sid, married two sisters, Hilda and Doll Goodchild.
Richard and Hilda had two children - Chris and Martin. Sid and Doll had a son, David. George had a daughter Leslie.
